BAR BREAKING APPARATUS
To show the forces which can be exerted during
thermal expansion or contraction. Including a heavy cast iron frame
340 x 120 x 100mm with slotted end pillar to carry a stout iron
bar. The bar is threaded at one end for a large tensioning nut and
has holes at the other end to accommodate the cast iron breaking
bars.
Supplied with ten breaking bars.

EXPANSION APPARATUS
Comprising two cast iron uprights, height
18cm linked by two nickel plated rods supported on expansion bar,
length 38cm fixed to one upright and resting on a friction pointer
placed at the other. With scale reading 0 to 90 degrees. With one
each aluminium, brass and iron expansion bars.

METAL BLOCK CALORIMETER
For the experimental determination of the
specific heat capacity of different metals. Cylindrical metal blocks,
mass 1kg adjusted to an accuracy of ±2%. Each block is drilled
with two holes, a large central hole, 12.5mm dia. for a special
immersion heater and a smaller hole, 7.5mm dia. for thermometer
or temperature sensor.
